So you have either broke your old bluetooth headphones because that rapper’s highly popular brand is actually garbage with a high price tag or you have decided to move on past your wired headphones. No matter the reason you are now surrounded with an onslaught of bluetooth headphones that range in price from pennies it seems to hundreds of dollars. I just want to tell you that you do not need to pay so much for quality bluetooth headphones.
The most important thing you need to do is NOT just go out and buy the name brand everyone is talking about. I had mentioned earlier that some are just garbage now. Do you want to pay $200 for a pair of headphones that is basically the same quality as a $30 or less pair? Seriously this is what you are doing when purchasing some of those “hot” brands.
Let's be honest with the advancement of technology and new models out you are probably going to want to buy a new pair anyways in 1.5 to 2 years. So don't get scammed buying a pair of overpriced ones that will last you 4 to 8 months only.
Here is the secret. You want a pair of headphones that is built with the expectation they need to sell based on their quality and not the name. So the company making them knowns the only way to get people to want them or to try them is on the quality. There have been tons of brands that are now famous who did just that. They built quality product and pushed the quality as the selling point and not some random celebrity being paid a million dollars to wear them to get them sold.
However, now we have a tricky part. There are always a bunch of “fly by night” ACME brands that build a new brand every 6 to 8 months and flood the market with super cheap crap. So if the brand has not been around for more than a year or two be cautious. If the brand has no web site be extra extra cautious. If the brands website is primary in Chinese then they could just be a super cheap manufacture trying to flood the market with subpar look alikes.
Let's look at some major items as far as actual hardware. Be sure to check out the battery life. You may not think too much of it when scanning over sales pages, ,however it is a big deal. There are brands that try to go sooo small or low profile they have to skimp on something. Yup, you guessed it battery size. Why would you want a pair of headphones that only last 2.5 to 3 hours. That's not even a full plane trip if you add it up. The time just sitting at airport. The time on the plane. So check that battery life. 10+ is a great life and I even have some that can last up to 15 hours.
On board controls should also be an important point. You may think you can just skip to next song or turn up or down volume from your phone, and you can. However, what if you are relaxed and that phone is across the room, or tucked in the seat pocket in front of you on the plane. Its now you want to have the ability to control the track and volume right from the headphones.
What if a call comes in. What should you do now. Well if you got a pair of Bluetooth headphones with a microphone built in and your on board controls allow call control then your set. Yes there are headphones with this capability. I would suggest ensuring the pair you get next have this. Even if you don't take a lot of calls. It allows you to send the call to voicemail so you can get back to your music and relaxing faster. If you do take a lot of calls well then you need it! The pair I have has this as well and I love them.
Sound Quality is a tough one. Just make sure it's got ample power and a nice pair of drivers. I am very very happy with the sound quality and the lows on my pair. They are not even some rappers name brand. I had those rapper ones and honestly they sucked compared to the ones I got now.
To fold or not to fold…. Well this is more a preference. I like the fold able ones as I travel a lot. To be honest even if you are packing them away to get to class or the library fold able is the way to go. Just make sure you have a case to put them in. It will help ensure your books or junk in your bag do not wreck the new Bluetooth headphones you get.
Now down to the punch line I guess.
The ones I currently have and am very satisfied with are Malektronic Gravity Bluetooth Headphones. They are a great price for high quality pair of Bluetooth Headphones. Gravity hits every point I brought up in this article. They are by a brand who is building their brand and reputation fast and have already garnered attention from the news and even have seen some celebrities with their product on social media.
Gravity has an excellent battery life of up to 15 hours, are fold-able, have way easy to use controls on the headphones, and has a microphone built in to take or make calls. As far as sound goes they live up to the Malektronic catch phrase of “Sounds Perfect”.
I have posted about their waterproof product before and was happy with its performance as well. To wrap up I would have to say…. Give Malektronic Gravity Bluetooth Headphones a chance. Add them to your list to review for possible replacements of the crap brand you bought 4 months ago, or to your list of how to move on past wired headphones. They also make a great pair of Bluetooth Earphones which I will sometime soon write up something about earphones and the new popular true wireless kind. So come back and check sometime for new ramblings from me.
