Recently I came across this posted on globlenet.com "Why 1 Billion People In Poor Countries Are Sick With Preventable Diseases" I was somehow not shocked about it. Saddened yes, however not shocked. More than one billion people all over the world are afflicted by neglected tropical diseases, several illnesses that have a tendency to strike marginalized communities within the third world. These illnesses, which dont typically affect individuals the U . s . States and Europe, can ravage populations in areas which are poor, difficult to go to and lack sufficient healthcare infrastructure... So I wounder as we pay more in the US for medication given away practically free in developing countries then why are our poor paying full price (or ins paying full price) not as sick as the 3rd world poor? Is the medication getting where it needs to be or is something happening?
